I'm looking at getting either Rotas or buddy clubs soon and I really want to fit chunky yokohamas on them like some kanjo civics I have seen, can someone point me in the right direction for what size and width/offset ect would fit on my ek4. I have posted a photo to show you what I would like them to look like on my car. Thanks

Majority of them use 15" wheels. As for the width, really depends on what you prefer. I'd go 8".

I'm not an expert at the offset department, so I can't say anything :p

Think the profile of the tyres are 55mm? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Profile is a % of the tread width.
So a 55 isn't mm it's 55%.
You'll be hard pushed to get a tyre that doesn't look stupid on an 8j and with chunky walls under the arches without them scrubbing.

205 50 15 is the biggest I would want to go on a 6.5 or 7 inch rim, 215 on a 7.5 or 225 50 15 on a 8 inch rim,
any bigger will surely have an adverse affect on handling / drive ability.
The stencilling makes the tyres look bigger than they are imo

205/50/15 on a 7'' rim - that's what I run and it is perfect. You can definitely go wider than 205 on 7j rim, 215 would be fine 225 max I'd say. OEM ek9 wheel
is only 6'' and uses 195/55/15. Watch the offset tho with wider tyres you can't go too low. I use ET32 and it is neat, wouldn't stand a chance without camber arms/minor arch modification.

I used run 195-50-r15 yokahoma parada spec 2s on 6.5 15" gram lights was perfect for everything corners straightlines launches. And still fit the arches without need of a roll.

Only thing was paradas **** them selves in puddles they slide like mad.

Best of luck

A 225 50 15 on a 7j would be like rolling round on a jelly I would of thought.

I don't see the point in running any bigger than a 205 on a 7j just to be like a kanjo racer, I can't see any advantage to it.
it's almost as stupid as the stretched stance scene.

Just run a tyre that fits the wheel properly.

Yeah that is of course true, that's why I run 205s but it is safe to go wider - 7j is 2.5 cm wider than standard wheel so in theory 215/45/15 will still be ever so slightly more stretched on 7j than the oem tyre on oem rim.

Yes a 215 45 15 would probably be not to bad but a 215 50 would be like a jelly as well.
I agree it's not unsafe but it's not giving any advantage either except for more space to do a massive stencilling on the side wall
