Didn't realize till after I bought it, but my mates are saying that it smokes a bit when I Vtec it, engine is unmodified and has done 150,000kms. Should I be worried?? I havnt owned it long enough (two days) to see if it uses oil or not

You have to wait, and see if its burning oil or not.
It smokes blue? White?

Not sure, as I'm always the one driving. I'm just about to put adjustables in it that's all, but if the engines not particularly healthy I'll try for the b18cr swap instead..

black smoke - overfuelling

blue smoke - oil burner

If it's burning oil it will most likely be the ring / worn valve guides / stem seals, not of which are particularly cheap to replace / identify

Just be sure its blue smoke and not white (condensation/water) before you do anything.

If your worried , measure the oil consumption over say 1000km , and take it from there.

just top it up with oil. reekie civics are the fastest haha

Haha cheers, got my boss to follow me for a bit, he reckons it's only a tiny bit of blue and a tiny bit of black smoke, so not really anything to be worried about haha

with the mileage being slightly higher mate it wont be uncommon for it to burn slightly more oil and have a bt of smoke as seals etc will be more worn but as long as its not a huge amount its nothing to worry about

First of all when buying a used car I would rather spend monies on maintenance (FULL service/bushes) before I go down the modifying route specially with performance cars over 10years old.
