J's Racing Filter Cleaning

Firstly, are these dry or oil type filters?

What is the recommended method for cleaning these filters?

I asked J's racing and they advised me the K&N cleaning & oil kit will be fine. TBH their reply wasn't very convincing.
Anyway, any genuine suggestions? before I wash this in soapy water?

I also clean my js filter with K&N cleaning kit and it's fine.

i too used the k&N kit. spent ages making sure i'd got all the dirt and grime off the filter before sparying it with the filter oil. seemed to be a good job!
