Jon's UK spec ITR track build up

What's up your using a b18c4?

If you are meaning in comparison to the original B18C6; the B18C6 was higher mileage, I had a B18C4 of low mileage and seeing as the plan is to rebuild the engine to a higher compression specification anyway it made sense to me.

If you are meaning in comparison to a K series; seeing as my budget for the rest of the car was quite high (for a lowly British working class individual also foolishly trying to save for a house!) selling the B series and forking out the bit more for the K at this moment in time did not seem wise! Plus I do like the more raw primal feel of the B series compared to K series at the moment. Maybe that's just me being weird!

Plus I still have to plan for specific car dreams for the future ... :naughty:

28th July 2012 Progress. The car is now a bare shell except the windows.

That's all for this post. There were a few other aspects undertaken but that will be on the next post.

Also ... so far the photos are mobile photos as you have no doubt guessed from the "average" quality. (At least they are not an HDR/Instagram abomination!) I do plan on getting better photography for the future stages so you poor folk don't have to suffer!

The car is now about to have a re-spray. The car was prepped and taken back to bare metal in many places, etch primered and undersealed. The shell has now had the glass removed, paint purchased and garage cleaned for spraying. The Volk TE37's have been prepped and coated with etch primer about to receive their own paint also.

The subframe has been seam welded and painted, the OEM arms, sway bars etc and parts being retained have all been prepped and painted also with the old bushings painstakingly removed and the new poly bushing partly installed.

The engine has been dis-assembled (revealing it needs new bearings) and many more parts have been ordered and delivered.

Updates of all of this plus photos will be updated soon.

thats some parts list there, well done in getting them all together. Think it would take me a long time to get some much ready in one go.

update is long due on this car. i will get a few fresh pics up later today.

From the amount of parts listed to go onto the C4 surely a K20 would probably have been cheaper lol. And much more worthwhile
