Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Lol mine smoked the first trip, about a mile to the shop and back and i haven't seen any since.
Yeah just want to be sure it's fine before i go get it mapped. Won't take me long to rack the miles up.

I'll get hold of him to get it booked up I think.
On 370 odd miles now.

Get some normal oil in it. Then once you head for mapping get the good stuff in

What oil would you use? Just a normal 10-40 semi? Nothing too special?

Coolio, I'll grab a random 10-40 semi and yet another filter lol
Waiting on replies from romain to book the final mapping.

Updates on this. Plenty to talk about/show you.
Engine;
Up over 500miles now, still no issues and it drives like a standard engine so all is well there.
Got some semi synth 10w-40 oil from millers on the way, along with another full size hamp filter. That will go in soon as it arrives, this batch of mineral will have over 400miles on it by the time it gets swapped out. Alittle anxious about putting the new oil in, although the same viscosity and even the same brand I'm anxious to see if it starts smoking or leaking etc. Likely my own paranoia and need to stop being pathetic about it.

Chassis;
Installed a pair of roll centre adjusters(or extended ball joints) from hardrace to the front hubs.
Now I HATE paying for work on my car (hence the engine build) so with abit of Heat and even more hammer I got the old ball joints out!

One oem and one blueprint ball joint, I knew about this beause I broke the oem ball joint when we fitted the diff into the car(when it was @MattEK9 car)
The hardrace ball joints are real nice, they aren't all shiney and flashy like the buddyclub ones but that's not the point of them and they are cheaper...
They installed easily with a small beating from the hammer and the circlip popped right over. Can't complain about that.
Got everything back on and I didn't bother raising the suspension again, I was planning to lower it more anyway to try and get more ground effect from the splitter etc once its all built.
Set the tracking with a new tool I bought, is a massive faff but got it straight(I think) checked tyre pressures and adjust that. This collectively has completely changed how the car drives, I'm no longer being bullied by the LSD and the steering MUCH lighter now, which is nice for me lol I can now steer easily with 1 finger at 40mph. For a no PAS car that's pretty good I think!
Heres how low the front sits now, along with my next update means I need to remove the bumper everytime I put the car on the drive lol

Leads me to my next part, technically cosmetic but I bought it as an airdam for the splitter project.
Is a chargespeed style lip for preface ek civics, I'm the only person with one of these in Europe ATM, easily available through ebay but was abit of a bitch to fit how I wanted it(flat at the bottom, parallel to the floor) doesn't help my bumper is abit bent from being stored in the back of the car with parts all over it for months.
Anyway plenty of cutting, grinding, drilling, heating and swearing and it now sits acceptably.
Also washed the exterior of the car because daily duties are getting it real dirty real fast.
Ignore the missing sideskirts, cars in road mode ATM because speed bumps at work won't agree with them!

Brother was working on his ep3 so perfect photo with my diffuser in the foreground.

Not looking it's best ATM, would love to get it repainted at the front end but as you can imagine, money is tight and priorities for a track car means that paint is pretty low on the list. Next update should be oil and filter install but I've got a habit of buying random things so you never know!

Thanks for the update on the lower ball joints. Do you have a link for them? Would need dc2 ones due to running dc2 lower arms.

Cheers bud, hopefully have some more decent ones in near future.

That rear diffuser and front lip combo are superb mate, nice job on the car in general Aswell would love to do a proper build myself at somepoint

Thanks buddy. Nice to hear/read when you've put so much time/money in, in such a short period. Hopefully I'll be rewarded when it gets mapped.

Waiting on a replay from romain, provisionally 24th/25th of Feb depending if he's free. Not set any dates yet but that's the ball park we are looking for. Gives me enough time to get some semi in for a few miles and prepare the car.

My idea is to leave the 0.4bar spring in the wastegate and have that as my lowest power setting, so should see about 260-270 with that I would have thought.
Then use the avcr's 2 boost settings to have one maxed out and one inbetween. Think on the avcr your not supposed to go more than like 2x spring pressure so I could end up putting my 0.6bar spring in as base.
I'll likely only use the lowest setting on track anyway and the higher numbers are pretty much just to try and justify my spending on the engine, plus it's nice to tease the odd porsche now and then lol
Depends how the avcr handles the wastegate spring on higher boost levels really. 0.4 leaves me with a max of around 0.8bar which isn't that high and should see 300+? So probably end up with the 0.6 spring to take the max up to 1.2bar and have 330-350? These are guesstimate figures and I'm not chasing anything specific, how it applies it's power is far more important to me than how much there is of it.

I would be tempted to go with the .6 bar spring. No point spending all this time and effort to go with such a low boost pressure.:))
Now its a 1800 it should give a nice increase of torque as well over the 1600.

Haha I want traction aswell though for damp/wet days. Obviously throttle control is ultimate.
