What are the pros and cons of fitting a 62mm TB to a B16a6?

The current setup is as follows:
Internally stock engine
57mm freeflow
MSD leads, cap, and coil
CAI

Its pointless really, bigger isnt always better... You may gain a bit of power low down and loose some up top.

I'm sure You mean D16a6. Bigger TB will give You increased throttle response wchich isnt always ideal. I went for a big bore TB in my B18C engine. Response is amazing, very good for racing purposes but on the streets its hard to start gently on bumpy roads (like in 1st gear, second ) or hold the throttle open at a specified angle. Ist so sensitive that it takes very small moves on the pedal to make the car jump now. Power wise I didnt check it on a dyno but unless You dont change Your cams, IM or do some headwork You wont feel a difference. Very minor benefits on a stock engine.

Will be the other way round. it will giv less low down torque as the air will loose velocity goin through a larger diameter. but may gain power higher up in the revs. May seem like you get better initial throttle response throughout but not actual power gains.

Best option would be to take off your throttle body and widen out the intake side making it taper more down to the butterfly. Will create a slight velocity stack effect and speed up the air entering the intake. Should give slightly better throughout. More noticable with a remap.

No, I mean B16a6

Future mods incl:
port matched IM
header
Raised comp
BC spec3+ or CTR/ITR cams

With this future mods you'll benefit of the ITR throttle body, but with the motor as you have it right now, you'll not feel any gains.

I'd like to change the stock tb. as well but I don't know how big would be the good choice.

I've AEM V2 CAI and skunk2 pro intake manifold at the moment but the 60 mm. tb. is not enough.

The skunk2 im. size is 64 mm. (which can modified to 72 mm. but I don't need such a big tb.)

So which would be the best? The 62 mm. or 64 mm. or the 65 mm. ???

many thanks
