as above.

bought an ASR brace along with skunk 2 lca's for my EK.

then came to fit an EK9 rear ARB at a later date. I've found that because the ARB is not sat ontop of a thick brace that it sat further back. along with the drop links of course. the drop links thread into the lower arms from the front and are therefore at a large angle. I think they are binding as this has forced a bush out of the lower arm.

surely this must have happened before and been resolved. I could buy another set of rear lower arms with the drilled hole design but this would only help not resolve.

I actually found that when fitting the rear ARB I had to attach the drop links to the lca before the arb as it would not thread in at the angle it was sat at.

cheers for any help in advance

maybe switching to oem lca will help since oem are thinner than aluminum.
heard that most aftermarket lca have the hole for the end links on the wrong place ...

i use buddyclub lca and i'm gonna install function7 subframe brace with ek9 rear arb next week:nerv:

edit: check your rear arb it is possible you have installed it upside down ?

you're ARB is upside down. take it off and refit correctly.

Its on the same way as oem. Also it will not fit upside down as it hits the exhaust.

Think chunk is right, Doesn't look to be the same as this? And if it's hitting the exhaust it must be a poor fitting one, or is OEM?

its definitely upside down, it should be bending down as it passes over the lca's, not up as you have pictured.

its hard to tell from the pics but it sits identical to how kipper has posted.

i did try and put it on upside down as they tend to sit better like that when there low but it wouldn't fit due to the exhaust.

i think it sits like that just because its low and the drop links are long.

kipper the exhaust isn't great tbh. it will be moved at some point.

do you have pics of how angled the drop links are?

X2 on this

It's defo wrong way around, yours is bending up it should bend down

If you look at the picture kipper posted you can clearly tell

i'll get another picture posted up today. its 100% fitted the same way up as kipper has posted. its just either got longer drop links or so low it means the arb is facing upwards alot.

Yes Struggle's looks like it's bending towards the LCA, The pic I posted the ARB is bending away/around the LCA.

Struggle it's common for the ARB to hit off the exhaust, I even had to "adjust" the brackets on my spoon N1 on my last EK4 SiR when I fitted a 18mm whiteline ARB.

Just to prove i'm not being stupid.

This pic you posted shows the arm coming out the d bush and going down towards the ground before bending back up and over the LCA. Just like this.

Tbh looking at it I may well have long drop links. I can see fitting the arb upside down actually helping the issue. I'll have to swap my exhaust for that though.

Raise the car or get shorter drop links, problem solved.

i still believe you have it on wrong, to me it needs to be flipped left to right, that would take the angle out of it and leave the drop links fitting properly.

x2 needs flipped. Judging by the LCA's your car isn't silly low either so I'd take that out of your equation.

Flipping it as chunk said will give you the height and distance to match up properly with the droplinks. And as I said the elbow part at either end is curving the wrong direction towards the LCA's, "at" rather than "around".
