is there any one who had a evo5 or supercharged altezza

i was thinking about changing my 9:(:)((i just think its time for a change even tho i don't have it that long but wat i want to know is has any body had any experience with mitsubishi evo 5's or either a supercharged toyota altezza
i was thinking the altezza would be very prone to breaking down
and i wouldn mind the running costs cos it would only be a weekend car
any susgestions would be very helpful
but i dont find a nice one i will stick to my 9 until i do:):):)
 
Evo's can give trouble with gearboxes and rear diff's so make that the first thing you check as there really expensive parts to replace.
 
I had a evo 3 and drove a evo 5, they're very fast cars on straights, but on the track (stock vrs stock) I think the ek9 handles better.

As vtec6000 said, the evos (honda also have a lot of syncro problems) have gearboxes and rear diff problems, specially if the previous owner didn't take good care of the gearbox + rear differential
 
i didnt think altezzas came supercharged

you sure you dont mean an is200 supercharged?
 
thanks lads how would i go about checking the diff( stupiid question but dont know a lot about cars

a good few lads put turbo and supercharger kits for them and stick them on but i nearly sure they didn make them as standard
 
yea thats what i thought

a mate had a supercharged is200 lexus but think the altezza only came with the NA beams
 
My mate had a SUpercharged Altezza...Sounded amazing but wasnt all that fast
 
Check for grinding when changing gears and listen for knocking noises when turning a full circle and also when shifting up through the gears listen for a banging noise from the rear diff that's very common on those. And if the AYC light is on (active yaw control) walk away from it you don't even want to know how much that can cost to replace.
