is it worth importing an ek9 these days?

i would say if money isnt an issue mport is the best way to go my dad imports and u would be loking at aorund 8k inc shipping to transport a mint one which at least you know it will be rot free and a great example mate

i know the exchange rate at the minute is about 102 euro for one japanese yen but what was it in the good times when everyone was importing?

ha ye just wondering what it used be back when everyone was importing

I remember the yen being at 160 back in 2007.

* 800,000yen car in 2007 ~ €5000
* 800,000yen car in 2011 ~ €7692

Dont forget you would get a far nicer car 800,000yen car in 2007 than 2011 too..!

The yen fell from around 114 to 104 in the last 2-3 weeks

Such a big difference!

Disgrace the way the world economy has gone! :(

I couldn't spend 14k on an EK9!

There's quite a few mint ones in the UK, as mentioned a few times above, Dunc always has some nice clean ones at a reasonable price.

Just to give you a rough idea, I sold my one in August, was the cleanest car I've had, it was a minter on the exterior. Usual wear on the drivers seat and had 100,000 miles, that sold for £4600. If you want to see it, it's here.

I'd advise to go view some in UK, at least you get to see them first as well :)

cheers for the advice lads, not going buying a 9 now was just interested in what it would cost to import one
