is it safe to turbo???

i have an ek4 at present standard engie and was thinking of installing a garrett t3/t4 turbo kit. is this wise. i realise my reliability will decrease..... the engine has covered about 92k miles i think ( had to replace engine ). i keep hearing rumours that you shouldn't turbo anything over 30k miles.
can anyone help?

I have seen cars with 200k miles get turbo'd and make great power, mileage does not matter, its the condition of the engine, a compression and leakdown test will determine that, an NA car at 250whp can be more unreliable than a turbo car at 250whp and vice versa of course, parts used, tuning, and quality of machine work if any is what makes reliability.
