Hi all! I have been looking at the civic ek9 and really wanted one but couldnt find a cheap quote! Probably due to my age, cheapest was around £4000. However I have just had a quote on a W reg ITR and that come back with £2842. I know it's a fair amount but I would pay it. Whats everyones thoughts on the ITR? DC2 model by the way.

Ye, not as nice looking as the 9 like you say but think i'm gonna have to go with one of these. What bhp are the '2000' DC2?

Beautiful car but not has the ek9 "nice" look, the 98 spec itr is considered one of the best FWD cars of all times :)

Well, the DC2 chassis does have a stiffer roof structure, and the engine and gearbox are suberb. It's a bit heavier however. Otherwise, it's agreed that the ITR is an extremely good car, if thats what you can get your hands on then go for it. Just make sure the cheaper price isn't because of something wrong with the car.

Mate i think your insane! All be it you will have a nice car but £2842??? The company that quoted you that must wear stripey jumpers and ballaclavas to work....

Have you checked other cars for quotes to get your premium down?

Clio 197? Cooper S? Jordan (If you can find a nice one) St 170? Fiesta ST?

Theres hunners mate, they might not have a shade on the ITR but **** paying that for insurance!!!!!

I advised him to get a Civic VTi instead of the EK9.

Cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure and very good cars.

Wouldn't want a clio as they are French, Cooper S are ugly, Jordan are hard to find and Fiesta ST too expensive!

Well enjoy paying nearly £3000 for insurance pal, Jordan 2 hard to find? Where you looking? Arnold Clark? I think you have to widen your spectrum theres 8 on the websites i know about

Just had a quote for a Jordan and It's £2702 now at 18 £220 a month, and its £2353 at 19 £194 a month.

Could you get away with insuring a Jordan as a VTI?

Great car, I have a 98 spec one, and I'm very happy with it :)

Like youre passion for the Civic Ek9. Thats understandable ! :nice:

If you've money to waste then go for it I say but, the Uk Integra which i owned before my Ek9 is an absolutely superb car and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Very little in the performance/handling between the two and I would'nt like to say which is better as they feel evenly matched.

I'd rule out imports at the moment tbh.
There are plenty of good performance Uk Honda's out there that are not stupid money to insure short term.

Remember: Good things come to those who wait.:D

Yes that is a nice car but I have a private reg and its on a W, So I cant go older than 2000. I am trying to get onto the garage I work at's traders policy, So I wont have to pay insurance. It's my dads business too, so hopefully he will put me on.
