Just been paied from insurance and thinking of getting a DC5

Anyone had any experience? What are they like?

Thanks.

yeah there great, depends what your used to i guess. my mates is standard and says the back end can be a bit twitchy but not much of a problem really imo.

had an ek9 then a dc5 then another 2 ek9's lol, only had the dc5 for a month or so and sold it again. Reason being they are great cars and that but for me just didnt feel as raw or planted as a 9, hard to explain really only way to find out for yourself is have a blast in one. Fast cars that handle great though i'm sure you'll love them ;)

Very capable cars with a few modifications. I/H/E and a map with K-Pro can see very promising figures.

Might go for one myself next.

ek9 has a better suspension, I believe, which may account for your liking the ek9 more over the DC5. Just a thought.

DC5 "MacPherson struts in the front and double-wishbone suspension in the rear"

This is a biggy for me, no car I have driven with Mac struts feels as good as one with double wishbones like the EK. I'm sure the DC5 is a great car with them, but it just seems like a bit of a step backwards.

Luke, if you get one, any chance of a ride in it? :D

Yea deffo matey :) trying find a good 1 and see what insurance will cost first.

im just after a run in a 366bhp 04 c/w dc5, :)
traction is a no no
crazy crazy car, very comfy and spaceious

I had a DC5 before my EK9, mine had Eibach fast road set up which I thought made it a much better car than standard suspension which was a bit skittish and fussy- didn't feel that planted to me. K20 has less of a kick into vtec than B16B because it is a more torquey everyday useable delivery. I did love my DC5, but for b road driving prefer my EK9. DC5 was definitely a bit quicker had more outright grip, just think my EK9 is more fun.
Also seemed to get a bit too much chav attention in my DC5..

I've just switched from a well sorted DC5 with Sprint Hart CP035R wheels, KPro, j's titanium exhaust, manifold, Gruppe M. I also had a fast road setup on Eibach lowering springs. Car was dyno'd 250Bhp and sure was quick.

As good as the car was and I'd have another one I prefer the EK9. Handling is better, seating position nicer and it just feels more rewarding getting the power out of the B16B engine.

On the downside the ride is quite rough compared to the DC5. Overall, even with all of the mods I had I found my DC5 quite dull to drive in comparison.

Got the dc5, impressions are probs same as the other old dc5 owners. Engine is more torquey but not as raw in vtec, and doesn't feel as nimble and planted in bends as the 9 did. Hydrulic steering in the 5 feels abit wierd atm also :p love the look of it tho, still a class car and glad i got one!

Nice one, will keep an eye out for that then! Aren't they electric power steering though?

Get some pics up, been looking into getting one for a while or sell mine and get a cheap standard 9 and track it.
