Well as I thought my car got declared a write off. Then the guy on the phone had the cheek to offer me £700 payout for it!!!!!

I swiftly declined that offer to which he replied "what were you expecting?" So I told him. He then rambled on about how my car is only a 98 civic vti and the modifications that I had done plus adding the red recaro interior wouldn't come up to that, guy hasn't got a clue. I told him the car is a Type-r and he had the balls to say to me "I can assure you that it's not a Type-r!" Eh? Excuse me!!!

By this point I'm fuming on the phone and about to lose the rag! So he's now gonna pass it on to someone else who is going to contact me about it. Can see this going on for a while!

yeah that is more than a joke. some companies havent a clue to be honest. Try Sky or greenlight.

Lol idiot!
I take it a plate check shows it as a vti? He's probably never heard of an ek9. Still no way to talk to someone in your position.
Name and shame and we'll all avoid them. Will cost them more than your cars worth in lost business.

I am with sky insurance but claiming the woman who hit me, she is insured with eSure. Going to contact my insurance and see what they have to say.

Raging is an understatement right now!

Yeah it must do mate, also had the cheek to say that they have done research on the car and compared to others. Obviously not!

You've easily got proof that's a type r. Chassis number for a start, then the engine etc. sky should be able to tell them that it is a type r. I think this is just a stalling trick and they are going to drag it out.
So it's e-sure causing all the hassle? Sky are fine?

Yeah i know, even said that to the guy on the phone but he's not got a clue! Yeah its esure that gave me the offer. Going to phone sky and let them know whats happening.

get an email address for a manager and put together a document with similar ek9s for sale at the moment and prices etc .. I knew of another lad who was in same situation ...

Well they just phoned back, there final and maximum offer was £1000. Politely told him to **** off! Now I have to open a complaints dispute to try and resolve this, unbelievable!

That's absolutely shocking, you'll get it sorted just a shame they're taking this approach, the way I see it they cant pay out for a car that wasn't involved in the crash and its quite obvious a vti wasn't.

second this as i know a few guys with jordans have had to do this getting offered similar to start off with and when the sent in all the ad's for the jordans they could find for sale the offer went up to a decent amount...worth a try :)

As long as you have it insured as a type R which no doubtly you will as you're with sky then you are in the clear to be fair! drop them a call and explain the situation as they should know these cars are about 5k to buy standard!!
