Alright guys and girls does anyone know a good insurance company in the uk ?

or sky insurance or adrian flux are probably best in that order and they know what a ek9 is unlike most companies.elephant dont do it and its not a vtec- r, had a conversation with them regarding it! not worth the risk of incorrectly insuring your car to save a few quid... if something goes wrong you could lose a lot more than you initially saved.
noel dazely are very helpfull

A-Plan were cheapest of all of the above for me and they knew exactly what car the Ek9 is.

So the vtec r(import) on elephants website isn't an ek9?
just looking at insurance quotes as planning on buying an ek9 very soon

No i dont think that the v-tec r is the ek9 although there is no civec with that name so it could be. I am insured with elephant under the v-tec r only because i switched with 3 months to go before the end of my year. so will be changing it when re-newal time comes. Also elephant say this car and all the ek imports are group 15 insurance.

cool. i'll give them a call and see what they say.
got a quote of £718 for the vtec r.

i was paying £600 for my williams which is group 17.

v tec-r is not ek9, i'm 100% sure of this, i contacted them via e mail and telephone and confirmed that they cannot cover ek 97-2000 civic type r import!!! its been talked about on here before a lot so thought id make sure for myself.
for a start ek9 is a group 20 not 15
v tec -r is a si-r(jdm vti)

oh yeah for what its worth i insure my ek9 PROPERLY with noel dazely cheaper than what elephant quoted for a vtec-r

if you wanna risk being screwed then go with elephant tho.
