Insurance help!!! 18yr old w/ EK4

right, ive bought an ek4 last week as its one of my dream cars and i've been going around looking for insurance. went on gocompare.com and got stupid numbers as a named driver of £6k :shocked: which is defo a :nono:

so i tried calling skyinsurance but they only insure drivers aged 19 minimum or held their lisence for two years.

im 18 and ive held my lisence for 1 and half years.

is there any other insurance company out there which can give me a relatively decent quote. ive been told that its possible to get TPFT under my mum/dad for about £1.5k which im willing to pay.

help need!! :((

im sorry mate theres no way your going to get low insurance.Ive got a ek9 and im 18 and im paying 4grand a year.Your best bet is going for pass plus and your insurance will drop but not by much.
 
No offence but you should of looked into this before purchasing the vehicle.
 
Next time check the cost of insurance before you buy the car and then you won't get any nasty surprises....But you're not the first one to do it and I'm sure won't be the last either :D

I think kaks ek9Rx means is it a vti or a sir..?? I had a vti at the age of 18 and got insured for just over 2k..They wont touch a sir as it a jap import..Best thing to do is get insured on an other car and then try get it insured. If it vti they should.
 
As Championship White says try elephant. You also might want to try admiral or bell.co.uk as they are part of the same group. I have often found bell to be cheaper for some reason.
 
i have and ek4 and i saved and saved for ages to get it. im £2000 fully comp with zenitch. with 1 ncb. i payed it immediatly so it was cheaper. good luck
 
most company wont insure u, i tried adrian flux, bell, elephant, sky, swindon?!, etc...i was 20 with 1 month uk license(had been driving in UK with my HK license for 1 year b4), no NCB, and most company didnt want to insure me.
try "insure your motor", they are the only company who insured me with the price less than 3k. they told me they could insure me on any car, it's just the matter of money.
i drive EK4 btw
 
i am 18 and just bought an EK9 b16b and yeah the insurance is crazy! been driving for a year and a half so sky wont touch me and the cheapest quote i have got is £3430 which is pretty good concidering the car and that was through autotrader i no this post is as bit late now but u shud take a look and see if you cud get it cheaper. oh and for sum reason its cheaper with my dad as a named driver, dont no y but it helps.
 
had the same kinda thing, im 18 with 1 years ncb and got a few quotes for 2k for an ek4 sir. Put my sister who is 22 on it and it brought it down by £440 :D
