I am in the middle of converting my b16a to a b16b! However the plugs from the b16b injectors do not match my obd1 loom!!! Will I have to use my sir eg9 injectors? If so will I be loosing power? Would I be better off buying aftermarket injectors? thanks...

buy a set of OBD2 clips from ebay or internet or breakers yeard. snip x4. te rewire them on. Its no biggie! :nice:

ok thanks... Any idea what i do need or where to get it?

Your converting a 16A to a 16B??? What for? So your also changing the pistons and rods? Might as well find a B18C crank my friend... :)

Neither of those in the link are any good for you!.... just go to a breakers, find any OBD2 car like 96, 97+ then chop the injector clips off with as much slack as possible. Youll find the OBD2 clips have the extrustion (that goes over the tab on the injector) slightly offset from the centre. OBD1 clips have the tab in the centre of the clip

Those in the link you posted are two kind that both do the same thing, they let you go from OBD2 harness to OBD1 injectors.

seriously is simple and cheap, just g to breakers yard, Ill help you out! :nice:

Your block is labeled B16, so how would they know?

An extra 15bhp right off the top? Cheaper than swapping out the crank/rods/pistons?

I think it's called budgeting.

:secret:

originally I thought he was converting the 16A to a B. But he meant swapping out a complete 16B engine. ;)

to ek9turbo (just my own future reference)

if i was to run set of rc injectors on my obd2a ek4 b16a2 (on site it says obd1 clips required to run on obd2 car)

rather than spend £40-50 on plug and play clips from what your saying im assuming i can just get some obd1 clips from car such as eg6 and solder/splice wires into my ek4 clips ?

yes as long as you do top quality work itll be fine.

heres stock ek9 clip (obd2) next to OBD1 rc injector

From the engine I stripped for my turbo engine, heres the injector wiring rail.

And heres after fitting one OBD1 clip to the b16b loom

The black taped wiring and OBD2 clips here are stock from the b16b harness, the really neat heatsrhunk/splced, solders and internally twin heatshrunk grey one OBD1
My injector harness wiring is mega neat compared to the factory section there :)

thats all you have to do, do it properly and it works werfect and is waterproof

much appreciated, great info there, defo option i may think about
