Alright, is there anybody on here with a traders insurance policy? I'm not sure if this is allowed but is it possible to have a traders policy to drive any car just on your own or does it have to be under a business of some sort?

What it is, i'm mechanic and fix a lot of my mates cars as homers and it would make it much easier for me if i was able to drive there cars saving them and me time and hassle.

Just wanted to know if its possible and if it is find out a little bit more about it and are there a lot dearer than a standard insurance policy.

:thanks:

Alot of the insurance companies will look for proof of you been a owner of a garage, vat no. and all the rest but you can get around this if you go thru a broker. If your under 25 expect a big premium. This is my experience here in Ireland but it might be different for you mate as your in the UK.

Forgot about this thread.

Cheers for the reply mate. Thing is i am under 25 and don't have a business so i guess i'm kinda screwed lol

i had a traders policy when i was 23 as it was cheaper than insuring the car i had at the time and i could drive anything, the company was tradex, give them a shout, you do not need to be in the trade to be insured with them :nice:.
