basically i want to get my first car soon! have about 700£ cash to play with and hopefully get something?

BUT!

i dont know what to get! i want to get on the jap scene but i dont know what jap car?!

id love to make a replica ek9, but then id also fancy a replica eg6?!

or i should just be sensible and get a micra or some bag of scrap

so help me :please: know ive asked for this help before but its getting more and more needed atm because need a car asap!

Is the £700 for the car + insurance + mods? If so you do not have enough.

Civics are expensive to insure for young/new drivers, so you need to take that into consideration.

I personally would just get a cheap run about and save up for an EK9 or EG6 rather than making a replica. (This is what I did in the past and it is worth it)

I hope this helps.

You could pick up an old eg or ek for that money, considering its your first car just get something cheap and i wouldnt be to worried about the condition!

insurance might be expensive so look at other cheap cars to!

Just make sure you check the insurance before you actually buy the car.. Else you could end up with a nasty shock.

For 700 I reckon you can only buy rusty Civics, that would mean you would almost get nothing back when you want to sell it in 2 years or so. I'd get something smaller like a Micra of Charade indeed. Charade is a nice step up from the small cans like Micra's and the 1.3 with 90hp is quite nippy.

hi lads, i have sorted insurance and that so the price doesnt really matter :) but i have about 700 just gor car:( i was thinking if i could get one for a first car though it could be a project for me to work on, (i like projects  )

but im really considering getting a cheapo run around until ive got a real amount of money to buy a 9 :p

You can pick up a nice EG for £600, a mint EK may be a bit out your budget I think but have a look on autotrader and other sites, bargains to be had.

I am thinking you want to stay with honda?

Civic eg with either the 1.5 lsi engine or a 1.6 sohc vtec esi one. Both good cars with the esi being a fair bit quicker.

Yeah but I think you'll only buy a rusty EG for that money.

as said mate ur budget is ur biggest problem i would try and find an eg needing a bit of work and as u say u like projects :D

Have a look for an EJ9 should be able to find a not bad 97 model for that price, wont be 100% but its something at least and they are reliable. As the lads said above double check with your insurance before you make any sort of purchase - If you choose to pay monthly which you have to be over 18 for (with the majority of companies these days) make sure you include the additional costs which can usually add up to around £400+

I started with a 1.0 Corsa which was excellent as a first car, now moved up to a 99 EJ then in a year or 2 I am moving onto a Jordan. Just move your engine size up in progressive stages that's what I would recommend. Also as well you will value your licence much more if your aiming for an EK in the later years, instead of getting something 1.4/1.6 then thrashing the life out of it then crashing = higher insurance.

Not good budget. I have €1500 for the car €700 for the Mods and €1000 for the insurance. Keep saving do whatever you can and go with tasteful Mods!

Don't go eg for a first either mate. They are awful bad in a crash the ek is much safer move onto an eg in time
