i had this problem on my car to! it turned out to be the gasket! so make sure its bolted up right and check for air leaks!maybe replace the gasket ifyou havent done so allready!

mb

sounds like a vacuum leak problem - things like IACV can cause this as well have it all checked out.

as someone else has said and ive also seen when the gasket is mis-aligned it can cause this idleing problem.

let us know how you get on

cheers lads for quick replys:nice:
ill check her all again tomorrow and see how it goes from there will let yous know either way

right took the intake off and put on new gaskets for intake and tb now its still sitting at 1200 to 1500 rpm i have one pipe left over from coolent system i have no idea where this goes i really need help lads i need detailed drawing of cooling system and vacum cause am really ****ed at the min :please::please::please::please:

Mines doing the same although sometimes its sitting up at near 2k rpm. As far as im aware you might need the ECU mapped to cope with the extra air intake to the engine.

Also try getting a Hondata inlet gasket on it rather than a standard gasket

i heard that meself but i hoped it wasn't true lol as it is now my intake is like a vacuum it doesn't stoop sucking in air it's mad...

does anyone have detailed fitting of skunk2 intake on b18c4

I just fitted mine, B16a2, and had no problem, I will try to take a picture of it tomorrow so you guys can see the hoose's conections.

Ok lads, here it goes. Hope it can help, please note that there is a hole that goes to No4 that should be closed in the B16a engines.

don`t know why but No2 doesn`t seem right. This is how my B18C looks like. I`ll go take some more shots for you before it gets too dark. But `im sure you`ve messed up your vacum lines and/or the IACV ones.

The instructions for fitting the B16a are different from the B18.

Anyhow, went out and took some shots. Maybe will help you. After all they`re both B series. I`ve uploaded them all in high rez in imageshack so all details are apparent.Below the IM is a black box, that plugs there the small grey hose with the red plastic link, between cylinders #3 and #4, are you sure you`ve connected the hose there?

Thanks for the pictures, that's a really clean engine bay:nice: congratulations. I have a 97 vti that is almost like a 99-00 Si in the USA, so just followed the instructios and made the adaptations recomended by them. Looks like everything is right since the iddle is good, actually it's better then it was before, and the engine is running just fine. On tuesday I'm going to the dyno to tune it, lets see the result.

good stuff lads cheers :thanks: if i dont get it hooked up now ill give up :angry2: love the look of your engine bays  wish mine looked like that at the min :(anyway thanks once again for the photos will let yous no how i get on
