I've got an S4C paired with stock b16a and I just want to know how to identify whether it's from EK9 or from other model and alo whether it is equip with LSD.

I know this quetion had been ask for alot of times but most answer I saw is to take it down and dismantle it but the gb is already on my car and taking it down would be quite troublesome. I'm pretty sure the FD is 4.4 though.

Besides, there are rumour saying that if your car is equip with LSD when you turn 1 side of the wheel the other side will follow but I also saw 1 guy saying his S80 doesn't. Can anyone clarify this ?:please::please:

visually same but have stamp S4C and lsd at gbox.
dismantle driveshaft look inside gb, no pin/rod it mean lsd gb.
S4C 1.5 way lsd not full lock lsd.it mean certain speed it will lock
if u just turning the tyre by hand the other not follow turn.

mine does have the S4C sticker but I couldn't find any LSD stamping. Would you mind to tell me where should I find the stamping ?

top of gb should have writing S4C and LSD if nothing difficult to compare it
unless u dismantle the gb
S4c lsd have 10 bolt n high speed bearing.
y series 14 bolt n normal bearing.

Easiest way to find out is go and find a wet roundabout and floor it round it.

If you go round it neatly - you have LSD
If you crash - you don't.

I hope your joking? If you do what you just suggested then you wont be going around that roundabout neatly lsd or no lsd.

I can in mine. Ok, floor it might be an exaggeration, but I can certainly push on much more than in a non LSD equipped car around wet roundabouts.

Basically, if you mash the throttle and understeer, you probably haven't got an LSD.

So to find out whether I have an LSD, i risk crashing my car huh. Thats too big risk lolz.
The gearbox is already on so i cant really look at the whole gearbox 360degrees , mind to tell me where exactly is the LSD stamping ?

It should be written next the S4C IIRC.

My response is somewhat tongue in cheek, my point being that you should be able to feel it if you have one.

maybe your stamp is off like mine i have an s80 instead
you can feel the lsd when driving on corners it pulls the front in to the corner !
the feeling is amazing!
there is a pic i found on net i think its something like that on that spesific place writing lsd

Jack car up, drain gearbox oil and remove both driveshafts. Look through hole where driveshaft should be and if you can see clear out the other side then you have a lsd.

Fair play I got that wrong then, I assumed it was printed on the sticker next to the S4C!

Thats the troublesome part. I am not really good with cars so I will need a mechanic to do this for me, and labour charges aren't cheap in Malaysia.

I my gb certainly doesn't have that LSD stamping, even the sticker with the barcode is also torn out already, The only thing I can find is the sticker writen S4C.

wat the man said cant be easier than that:nice:

Are you not able to drive the car then?

I don't really get what you mean but if you're trying to say if I am able to drive the car then I should be able to feel and differentiate between LSD and non LSD thn I'm sorry but I still very very very new to cars and I really can't confidently differentiate between LSD and non LSD. Maybe you can give me some guidance ?

Hey guys, I did manage to find te LSD stamping but it's almost faded all. Above the LSD stamping there's another B4 stamping, what does this mean ?
