HOT Oulton Park 9th September 2009...


Date: 9th September 2009 (Wednesday).
Venue: Oulton Park Full Circuit.
Type: Open Pitlane.
Noise: 105db static.
Price: £225 (Less 10% discount for 10 or more people)...

Extras:
Passengers: £10.
Helmet Hire: £10.
Instructor: £25.
Additional Driver: £25.

Those nice people from Mototsport Vision have invited us to attend their day at Oulton. Please note day suitable for intermediate/advanced drivers only as this day will be an OPL format with MSV customers as well as ourselves.

Located just ½ an hours drive from Manchester and Liverpool, Oulton Park is set in beautiful parkland. Its hills and undulations make this one of the most exciting racetracks to drive in the country.

The open pit lane format will allow you to enjoy all the circuit time you can handle and develop your driving skills in a safe, controlled and professional environment. They are more suited to the more experienced track driver. If you have never been on this track before then book a session of instruction and you will be up to speed in no time at all.

Starting to fill up now - any EK9's coming out to play or is this too far ahead to plan for?
 
The circuit I really wanted to do this year, gutted to miss it, a bridge too far :((

Hopefully it will be on the HOT calender next year :)
 
Oulton Park is right near my mum's house and i'll definitely be coming down to watch this, I booked the day off work today!

I would love to get the ek9 on there but will probably just watch this year. can someone explain or clarify what is meant by intermediate/ advanced drivers only so I know if i'll ever be able to give it a go or not?!

Hi there Andy,,, bring a helmet with you and myself and other HOT drivers will take you out for a few passenger laps if you liked??? :nice:...

As for this day being for intermediate/advanced drivers,,, we @ HOT have classed it as such because it is an OPL format and various other cars/drivers on track @ the same time (not just us friendly Honda folk)... That said if you are confident in this type of enviroment and maybe if you booked an instructor as well then it shouldn't be a problem ;)...
 
There will be a fair bit of traffic at times, people will not move over for you, some dont bother to use mirrors and will change direction/line without notice and many will tailgate you at speed - for some this is an intimidating enviroment - not recomended if you are new to trackdays imo.
Not all mixed days are like this but it can happen.
 
thanks for the replies guys and explaining the classification. as i said, i'll definitely come down for a watch and would absolutely love to go round with someone as a passenger! i'll get asking round for a helmet now!!!

I was going to book this when i saw it come up on HOT as it's the closest track to me!:D
I have been dieing to come back out with the HOT guys & girls sin's the min i left snett back in march! lol

But i have taken the 9 off the road till next year for a rebuild & some new goodies!:p

But i will be coming along to say hi to everyone & watch the HOT action!
Hopefully get a few pax lap's with you guy's too!:secret:
 
i've managed to get myself a helmet now so if anyone would allow me sit in their car for a few passenger laps, i would be so grateful :)

also, what time do these days normally get going?
 
I'm sure some of the HOT lads will give u a pax ride mate! They are a great bunch of guys!
I will be there on wed mate so we will have to have a chat!:nice:
I sure hope I get one or two pax laps anyway!:D
 
chatting to someone the other day who'll be there, i wouldnt have been able to go this anyway, sounds like it will good day

great mate. i'll be going there by myself so will be good to meet you. i would so love a passenger ride round there as i spend so much time at the circuit but have never been round it. i'm so looking forward to it, i can't wait now!!

it would have been good to see you again mate but hopefully you'll be able to make it to the next one! hope the ek's coming on a little more :)
 
Good to meet Jimbob and aRc today. It was a great day out but I run out of steam by 2pm (hope the cruise around wasn't too painful Jim?)

The tip out in the breadvan was great mate, some nice driving/line's.
I do like your breadvan mate & it's come on alot sin's i last saw it at snett!
The sound with your bung in was Immense!:dance:

Ill have a look through my vids when i get home latter mate, but i dont think i have much really because i spent most my time talking to everyone! :lol:
