Hey all, sort of a continuation from my intro thread :)
If anyone feels like this shouldnt be here then by all means ill remove it (admin or otherwise) seeing as it is a civic forum technically lol

Anyways, back to the thread...

A few pics from when i first bought it in July 2014

So to give you a rundown

1998 Honda Prelude
2.2 DOHC VTEC VTI (185bhp)
4 wheel steer (super awkward at the start)
Some cheap ebay "burnt tip" aftermarket backbox
16inch alloys, think they're standards for the vti?
Half bucket seats with the weird fuzzy material
Front splitter and motegi skirts

Pretty much stock atm and ive only done a few bits, reason i want to keep it is cause ive seen 3 in my life in person.
Super rare car over in NI, ive actually seen more r34 and r35 gtr skylines... more merc amg's and m3s and all sorts

Everyone loves an underdog...right?
Next update later tonight if i can get the time

And also any tips or that sort is more than welcome, end of the day everyone has their own opinion. Im not a fan of halfrauds body kits/rims though... ;)

So first things first, she got a clean and a buff, made SUCH a difference

Decided to fit a jap plate on the front and even got the misses in on a little cleaning haha

Rolling road video

Wheels started off life very bad

So work began on all alloys refurbing them

Flying prelude

They werent in the best nick

Sanded them all down, look pretty damn good with that polished metal effect

First coat of primer (etch if i recall correctly)

Second coat

Sprayed with a custom silver with a blue effect

So while the wheels were being done i decided its time to give those brake calipers a bit of colour

Cleaned first of all

Not amazing detail but got the rough stuff off as we were on a short time frame

Coat of primer

Undercoat of silver with a few sparkly bits

Top layer of blue with blue sparkles (fleck or something i think the actual term is? someone with knowledge help me out lol)

Some other bits of body work werent up to scratch but getting there slowly

Got the splitter and skirts but no rear yet

So skirts were firstly silver and secondly had a few scrapes and chips

Sanded them down

Same with the splitter but didnt get pics of that as again rushed haha

Primed them all

Sprayed matching black

End of the night came and after a bit of an awkward job fitting everything we thought... that bonnet looks a bit rough

So you know what comes next

Of course the misses had to leave her mark

Incase you cant make it out it spells Meghan lol

All done

Didnt get a pic of the spraying as it was around 8pm and still had to finish mine and do a few other bits so heres a lovely pic of the front

Some blox lug nuts on too :) finished product wasnt too shabby

Was a little heartbroken i needed arches... good news, passenger side is absolutely perfect :)

Drivers side... pretty bad lol

Massive chunks :(

Couldve cried

Alot came out :(

Anyways down to business..

Cut out the affected area

Hooolllyyyy good ducks!

And no i dont have tiny hands haha

Insde cut out and sanded

Outer bit cut away

New bits welded in

And the inside

Arches completed today, very long and depressing period without the lude so she got thoroughly tec'd on the trip home haha

Welds were sanded just after this

Some filler, body work guy gave me some professional grade stuff for arches, inside done too

Sanded down

Inside the arch done too

Primed

Sprayed with a rattle can currently as the whole car is getting done at the end of spring

Inside arch

Overall came out v well for a 2 day job, inbetween fixing a few motorbikes :)
Cant take any credit for this at all though as the owner did literally everything on this arch rebuilld himself, even the metal was cut and bent to shape from a bare sheet... unreal work IMHO

So some random shizz
Bonnet raisers/dampeners

Password jdm dress up

Rocker cover painted candy blue (more detailed pics to follow)

Evo 7 recaros fitted

Just as an update to this, i roofed it last month lol
So if anyone can tag Angus (think thats spelled right) or vtec6000 (again think thats right lol) this is why i never made it down buddy haha

Anyways, got myself a blue one of same year and spec so just got it resprayed a midnight purple lp2 variant :)
Looks really well in the prelude style and gotta swap over all the seats and harnesses etc

And to anyone who says those takata reps are balls... off duty fire chief was one of the first on the scene and he said they 100% saved my life lol
The regular seatbelt coupled with the angle of the crash and flip etc he said i would have been thrown through the windscreen :(

Aaaanyways, next up im building an ek so expect more soon, havent got any pics uploaded to photobucket yet with the new colour but i might someday :)

PS: @Vtec6000

Taa daa

And whats left now

Rocker cover

Arches getting fixed

Sprayed Midnight purple LP2

Plans are install the apex springs i have, refurb alloys and get the seats and harnesses back in

After that my daily driver is complete and its time to build the EK

Woah, how did it end up on its roof? That's crazy, good thing you were strapped in tight. Nice paint job on the new 'lude :)

Hey thanks buddy :)
Basically i was going around an S bend around 60 (taken it at 90 before), on the exit corner the rear end skipped out (either hit a pot hole or an uneven bit and caught a little air) and with the 4 wheel steer my front pointed right and my back pointed left.
Basically with the momentary loss of traction coupled with the 4ws it put me pretty much sideways lol.

Had a choice of hitting a car with a family in it, a wall with kids behind it (DOE advert much?) or throwing it left and hitting a bank.
Went left and snaked a bit before hitting the bank pretty hard, went up and flipped it.
I remember most of the crash but the other guy said i flipped 3 times, judging from the damage to drivers side and roof only id imagine it was only the once though.

Anyways, next plan is either a b18 or k20 ek or might go subaru turbo 2000... methinks a civic would be more fun though

Nice handiwork!

Do be careful out there! :nerv:
Gracias :)
Yeah, just one of those things that happens i guess, not really much else i couldve done as once the traction went it was instantly gonna end badly lol

Going to build the prelude up a bit more with refurbed alloys and 30mm springs, maybe a few other bits like an ATR manifold etc.
Sorry if i repeating what ive already said but its hard to keep track with these posts on different sites lol
