This question was asked but not answered, how much MTF do you require for a gearbox oil change??

you need to buy 3 ltrs as the gearbox takes around 2.6ltrs if i remember correctly
 
2.2ltr for oil change, 2.3ltr for overhaul
still gotta buy 3 bottles :(
 
landrover MTF used to be about 22-25 pounds its now about 33 quid its gone up!:(
 
You can get a 2.5 ltr bottle of rover MTF now aswell... Can't remember off the top of my head what l paid for it but it was'nt a horrendous amout :)
 
got some of this stuff today out of a drum, my question is, is it meant to be soo runny. the stuff i got is like water and not very oil like. is that the way its meant to be are am i just being paranoid? :nerv:
 
i paid 12/litre few days back, last time i bought it for my civic that was couple years ago its was something like 6 or 7 quid a litre
 
There is no official viscosity as it is transmission fluid, not gear oil. But it would be equivalent to 5w30 motor oil.
