changing my mates front discs on a del sol. the two philips screws holding the disc on! one is totally siezed. do i need these? is it ok to drill one out?
thanks

give it some hammer, if that doesn't lose it.

try chisel and hammer it round.

wouldn't put a drilll to it tho personally.

and they just kind of hold the disc in place, no load on them.

the wheel and nuts hold everything tho

:nice:got an impact driver? thats how i got mine out the other day!! i have been told though that these screws are just to aid re-assembly so as an engineer i would say they were not needed :nice:

would say the same..they arent load bearing so wouldnt imagine you would gain/lose anything by removing them if it was necessary...id soak them in wd40 and leave them for an hour first thing and try again

A hammer and an impact driver works when used correctly. You can also drill the screw out. When putting the new discs on it won't hurt to put new screws back in with some anti-sieze.

ended up drilling it out, it was solid and wouldnt budge. figured the wheels would hold everything on. will get new screws and put them on at a later date. cheers guys!

i dont use the screws, its just too much of a hassle, and your right the wheel holds it all in anyway :nice:

when you put newscrews on make sure to put some copper slip on the threads :p
