BC i thought were really good! i had 12-10. iirc they are the same company as ohlins so uk based ? i maybe wrong
Very wrong.
BC Is Bor-Chuann Enterprises in Tiawan, they make a lot of coilovers, D2, KSport, Megan, Skunk2 and their own line of BC Racing coilovers. Racing Logic and MeisterR are rumoured to be made, or at least have components made by Bor Chuann also.
It's not a bad thing, and not all the products to come from there are of the same quality, nor do they have the same kind of aftersales service. What you have to be careful of is how much R&D the client companies put into speccing their setups, and how much of a profit margin they are making. Assuming MeisterRs are built entirely there, they would most likely represent the better end of the spectrum, making a small margin but using decent levels of manufacturing to build a good reputation and shift lots of units as a result.
Some of the more fly by night companies, Godspeed, YellowSpeed, BlackWorks etc will be making far more of a profit margin by cutting manufacturing costs resulting in poorer quality. Their reputation as a result isn't so good, and unfortunately this reflects badly on everything else that comes from Bor Chuann even though it's essentially the result of the clients cost cutting, not the manufacturer.
There is IIRC no laws on copyrighting or something like that in Tiawan, which is what allows all these companies to pop up and copy each others designs on the cheap.
