i just dyno my stock B16B yesterday... the result is unexpected low 151ps, same power wit my fren's B16A... Got white smoke blow out sumore... i just service my car few days ago...
My setup is:
ELF 5w40 engine oil
FEEL's 421 header
2.5' piping
Decat
Apexi N1 muffler
Denso iridirium 2 months old

Any comment or suggestion? Headach...
And anyone know how to figure Type R cam and non type R one? my fren ask me to check whether my engine internal really Type R...

well what mods did the b16a have? if 151ps is anything like 151whp then thats pretty normal.

Thanks bro...
There are 2 fren wit Stock B16a internal... One get 154whp, another got 159whp...
Is tat really normal? i tought at least 10hp different.. How about white smoke? scary man..lik wanna blow engine..

white smoke = coolant.

Check the underside of your oil cap. If you see white milky/pasty substance - you are burning coolant and I would advise you stop tuning/testing your car immediately till you resolve this issue.

dw.i had the same power when my 9 went on the dyno.its proberly the dyno is out.what sort of dyno was it? mine was on a dyno dynamics and it ran a 154bhp at the flywheel.it still leaves ep3s to 100.white smoke is prob coolent.undo you oil cap and check.

Thanks Raging Angel and Remo....
The Dyno Machine is Dyno Jet...I think mine 151ps is on wheel.... How is flywheel power to be dyno??
Im still confuse about why my 16B has same power wit 16A...Me and my fren dyno on the same machine and both of us are stock engine...?

is your car quicker than the 16a`s ? If so then your laughin:D

hi mate i had mine dyno'd to and the power was rite down on my 9, it came out with a 151 at the fly so it is well below the standard figure. my car is pumping out a puff of black bluey smoke when i rev hard a change gear. my freinds b16a beats me so im guna have to sort it out, could be the rings or the valve stem oil seals or the valve could possibly could be a few degrees out.

does anyone actually know the propa compression ratio of the b16b and what should it be after a few years of use...?

nope, that's blue/blackish smoke.
Thanks blinx...
The dyno boss told me if Black smoke meant running too rich... white smoke piston ring problem so engine oil will get lesser after few thousands kilometers run... But my engine oil do get lesser..:((
Blinx... can tell me how to fix the coolant burn problem?

Thanks for sharing ur experience mate...
Please update me after u fix yours problem.. i wanna know...thanks

for a stock b16b with a minor mods like you,in comparison to the dynosheets i have seen(b16b).. its can be considered a bit low for both whp & torque figure
stock b16a achieving 155+whp it is really impressive, if tht b16a is really stock, that means the engine must be really healthy:nice:

I have some queries for you,
do u use any CAI system?
have you set your cams properly (adj. cam gear)?
For your 2.5" piping, is it mandrel bending?

^ as said by blinx, compression test is needed.
Would hate to be slower than a vti/b16a2

B16A2R...thanks for sharing...I do had CAI....But never touch my cam and cam gear before..
What is mandrel bending? sorry im noob..
This wat im using...How u think?

i think i will check my compresion later..thanks for suggestion:)
Wat level should i have Blinx???

depends on your gauge.

Look for even numbers for all the cylinders. Remember to pull the ECU fuse and do the test WOT and crank till the needle stabilizes.

white smoke is definitely a coolant leak issue. The most common culprit is a blown headgasket.

To determine this, you must also do a leakdown test.

But i really dont understand where the coolant leak?? i asked some mechanic, they said it could be the piston ring... RA.. can u tell me more specifically? thanks...
And i found that when im driving on road wit high rev, it dint have white smoke from the muffler... Only the dyno day, its blow out white smoke..
