I'm getting what I can only assume is a gearbox/clutch noise which is mainly audible when driving at 50-60mph in 5th with fans and stereo off. The noise sounds (from the cabin at least) like a dry grating sort of noise and comes and goes with the throttle; When you're accelerating the noise sounds different to when you're off the throttle, if you can imagine like the difference breathing in and out. In lower gears and and lower speeds it's less apparent and whilst I didn't have a lot of time to test on my way home seems to go away with the clutch down.
I Recently fitted a set of M Factory solid shifter bushes (one to improve the shift and two to attempt to cure the creaking noise that I was getting, which it did) now I'm not sure if its just the more solid bushes amplifying the noise of the gearbox into the cabin or not?
Any suggestions would be very helpful.
