HELP! coolant reservoir bubbling on my 9!!

hey guys!

resecently i've discovered my coolant reservoir bottle bubbling after a drive

it's topped up and no air in system (was fine 2-3 months before)

but, ive just changed the thermostat rescently as the previous one died and was stuck open (car never warmed up)

car sits are normal operating tempreture, everything is fine and drives fine, with the cap off it doesnt bubble when idling, no signs of head gasket problems!

this has really got me! someone help!!!

You need to do ALL the head gasket failure check's. Remove the thermostat as well and see if the problem goes.
 
PS. i just remembered there is a cheapo EBAY spoon rad cap on it, that might be the problemo
 
i need one but im all the way in australia, really appreciate it tho

it's not bubbling cause its hot, when i take the lid off the reserve bottle hot air comes out, but after like 30-40 seconds it stops (nothing comes out of it) so to me, the radiator cap isnt doing a good job (looks crap anyway, my freind changed it, telling me it's real, never actually had a good look at it until then, it's dodgy@@)
