Hi everyone I have currently got a 1997 civic ek9 that I bought of someone on here in good faith , turns out it has a fair bit of rust, that wasn't described when buying it . But anyway now I am in a bit of a bind and don't no what to do for the best. Can you buy a bracket to replace the lac mount on the chassis as some twat has chopped it off and dented it a fair bit ? And in people's opinion is it worth just scrapping and moving on ? Below is a link to my photo bucket http://s840.photobucket.com/user/delldub/library/Mobile Uploads

It needs a full slam pan all various bits in the engine bay, all four corners of the floor , by the spare wheel well, vRious bits along the floor , both inner chassis legs
(front/inner arches) both inner and Luther rear Arches.

I have probably missed some,
All help and advice would be amazing. And also anyone who has brought a rust bucket back to life ?

You can save anything from rust with work it just all depends on if you have the cash and will to do/ have it all removed and fixed, the previous owner might have been hit with the same decision and just sold it on like iv seen done alot more nowadays

I've welded up quite a few cars but to be honest with you it sounds to me like this one is past the point of saving but thats just based on what you have said. Can't see pics.

Also is it rust on the surface that doesn't look to clever but can be repaired without welding or is it rot where the original metal is all but gone?

Ultimately it depends on what skills you have, what you want from the car and how much time and money you have,

I've re built some real rot boxes from a bare shell up,
If you want it to last you need to leave nothing to chance, but if you just want a bit of fun for a couple of years or a track day beater it's really a different story,

Make you photobucket album public so we can have a look
