Hello all!!

Well.... I am new to the Honda EK9 and what can I say after driving one, very much fun!

I am a bit of a VW Audi group nut owning a Seat Ibiza FR 1.9TDi - VW Golf Mk2 1.8 16V GTi and a Mk3 Polo CL but I have had enough of them all! I work for a VW Audi group tuner and I am in need of something different!

I am pretty sure I will be buying a EK9 Civic Type R in the last months of this year or early few of next! Would love one in white so thats what i am going to aim for! Knowing me it wont be standard for long!

Welcome to the site man. I used to be well into air cooled vdubs a few years back before I converted over to jap. My brother used to have a mk2 golf gti with a corrado vr6 conversion too. Amazing car. I'm well into japs now but still have a soft spot for the vw's:)
 
Cheers mate, I was going to convert the Mk2 in to a 1.8 20VT with around 330bhp but its going to cost like 7K to do it and the car will only be worth 2-3K if that!! waste of money... but aint every car! lol

Before I could even drive I wanted a EK9TR so about time I got one! Only problem will be insurance... only 20!! :(
 
Ye mate, see whatya mean. Spending cash on our cars becomes like an addiction at times. I doubt I'll ever grow out of it lol.

Good luck finding insurance. I'm 21, but the quotes Ive gotten so far have'nt been too bad

What does everyone recommend for tuning? I have heard some very good things about Spoon Sports?

Is it true that they can do a 0-60 in 5.7sec (mph)?

My diesel ibiza got 6.5sec and 14.9 1/4 mile at Santa Pod

I think I will be getting one as a christmas prezzy for myself :)

Its like every forum! lol

I so cannot wait to get one now! its killing me already.... might just go crazy one day and splash out and buy one!

What sort of things do I need to be looking out for when I am going to buy? know of any bad points on the cars I should check before signing on the dotted line?

Are there any known common faults I should be aware of? For example with the VAG range its common for the air mass meter to pack up and coilpacks to die on the 1.8 20VT engine.
