I took the original Gathers head unit out of my car today with one of my mates. What a pain of a job to do:angry2:
Anyway, we put everything back together and put the new head unit in, and now my heaters arn't working properly, they're just getting luke warm:(

I remember when we the centre console out, there was a blue lead almost like a bike brake cable, that connected onto a hook under the centre of the dash, from the heater control. When we put it back on, the heater slider for hot and cold air felt pretty stiff so we took of the cable, and put it back untill the slider felt like normal again.

So I'm pretty sure that its this cable whats causing the problem. Could we have damaged it during taking it off, or could it be that we havent attached it back on properly?.

Any help on this is well appreciated, as I need my heat back on asap, so I'm not freezin my ass off.

Thanks

Try removing the center console and manually adjust the heat control cable all the way and see will you get more heat then. you may have damaged/stretched the cable some how or the arm it attaches to.

Ok Thanks. I'll have a crack at it tomorrow after work. If the cable is damaged, are they pretty easy to get hold of dyou know?

Not to sure on that mate but I imagine any import with the same dash will have the same heater components. If its a case that it stretched you could probably bend the arm it attatches to forward to pull the cable more or shorten the cable itself.

Ah right I get you. I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Its pretty much my first try at D-I-Y on the 9 as I'm pretty much a novice. But hopefully I'll get it sorted.I'll keep you posted. Thanks again:nice:

Itll turn out to be somthing daft, check the cables shroud is clipped in at the right position. they dont damage easily, kinking them tightly will though, double check it; it ssounds like its just not attached properly

Got it sorted today guys. Was something simple thankfully. We did'nt route the heater lever wire back properly:confused:.
So the 9's nice and warm again.:D Thanks again for the advice:nice:

Good to hear it buddy, BTW, why did you take your heater controls out to get your radio out!!???
You can take te lower dash covers and glove-box out and get to the screw you know:nice:

For some reason mine was just seriously hard to get out, even with the tutorial guides I was given dude. Maybe it was because we've never done one before, I dunno really.
