Hi all,

Replaced my rocker cover today, but when using my torque wrench to get all my bolts done up right, this stud snapped;

What I have done temporarily is put the remainder of the stud in the plug cover, and used that to help hold it in place. So far there has been no oil appearing around it thankfuly.

What I'm wondering is - how easy are these studs to replace? I can't keep it as it is obviously (or can I?). I don't want to be shelling out heaps on a new head :( or getting it drilled and tapped.

What happened? I'm pretty sure those bolts are torqued at like 8lbs? or something, did you over tighten? which part has sheared do you have a better picture?

I was torquing at 7.2 lbs and it still snapped before my wrench indicated :( No better pics for now unfortunately, it's the threaded part of the stud that's snapped

I snapped one aswell. Bought a new one from my local Honda dealer and changed it in a couple of minutes :)

You just take a wrench and put it at on nut that sits on that cam shaft bracket thing, turn/screw it off and replace with new one. Really easy :nice:

Part number is: 90014-PR3-000

Perfect, thanks all! Does anyone know the part number? Or the website that has like the exploded diagrams with all the part numbers (I can never remember it)

I snapped one too whilst changing the spark plugs and then must have tightened it too much, they are brittle and it snapped, got one of a B series breaking and replaced it, easy to do.

i have done this many times, its a 2 second job.

what temp was your engine??? i normally snap em when the engine is hot or still warm.

as they are cheap parts from honda i normally keep 2 in my tool box, for when this annoying problem happens, it maybe worth buying 2 when your down at honda
