Hazards flash when starting.. !!!!!!!???!!!!!

Got in the car this morning and it seemed to start weak... like the battery had not as much power as usual as it took a few more times to turn over than usual... Then when it does start it seems to blip the rev's by itself up to about 2000RPM and then it idles like normal but as soon as it starts the hazards flash twice...

I have used the search !!! lol as any good Ek9.ORGer ( new word ) should.

@lex is only the guy i bought the car off and no one helped him then...

I'm sure he would not have sold me a DUD knowing it had problems..
I have never had this problem until this morning. and i have covered about 3000 - 3500 Miles since i bought the car about... 3 months ago...
As alot of you guys know i don't have a lot of money at the moment so my EK4 is my daily driver and weekend Toy.

now i don't get the scooby noise he was talking about though but he said he noticed a hesitation at 1500RPM well on my way to work i noticed a hesitation at 2800RPM very very minor only the fact i drive the car every single day did i notice it as it was hardly anything.

I very occasionally get a bit of smoke at high RPM but i have put this down to Valve stem seals... these will be changed when it comes to Service?tune up time...


If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it... REP will be added..

Do you have an alarm fitted? As certain models trigger the hazards to indicate that it has been set off. My toad alarm done it. I'm not that alex named in the thread btw lol

BADA-BING !!!!!!!!!!! Its fitted with a TOAD alarm....

o.k so maybe the starting bit is the immobiliser... ???

Hmm it did go off when i was on holiday one night while camping. Damm i know nothing about this alarm or how to work it..
I'll dig some papers out and see if have any luck..

Lol mine does it from time to time...toad alarm fitted too...but mine's more random. And when it does do it, the starter motor kinda freezes half way through so it'll turn over pause then carry on before it fires. When it does that, the indicators flash twice. Never really been a problem for me as it's always done it since I've had the 9. My cars started to be smokey as fook...but the difference is prob to do with the recently added decat not hiding it. Dans seem how smokey it is firsthand

No probs I'm not clued up either with alarms lol but as you say it could b imobiliser related. I'm having problems with mine lately where it radomally goes off and I'm sure I've checked everything might just sack it off tbh! Never heard a good word about toad but then I won't hear the pikey that's trying to steal my car haha

same dude mine went off on holiday in the middle of the night and i kept locking it with a blistering loud BLEEEEEEP at 03.45Am to then find the car goes BLEEEP BLEEEP and kept unlocking itself.......so i fought with it from my tent half awake pressing lock and cringing at the fact everyone on the campsite could hear me to then find i get BLEEEP BLEEEP and it unlocks itself again.... so i leave it unlcoked to be woken up by BLEEEEEEEEEEEEP the car locked itself again after about 2 hours of unlcoking it after i actually told it to lock..

F****** Toad, i tell you if this was one of them frogs that you lick their backs to get high...... this one would be a one way ticket to the looney bin.. A.K.A mental hospital..

its annoying.. its like it has a mind of its own..

i had a toad alarm a few weeks bk and it was doin the same was really sensative aswell so i ripped it out it only ever went off duren the night dam thing
