hi lads its my first attempt to remove a b16a2 engine and box, would anybody have any step by step instructions for me..any help would be great lads thanks.

have you got an engine crane etc? What are u taking it out of? Its just a case of unplugging everything, deplumbing a few bits, taking the drive shafts out (draining the gear box), undoing the gear linkages. Then undoing the mounts and taking it out

1st off remove hub nuts and take off the driveshafts undo exhaust manifold u could leave on but disconnect from cat. disconnect the air con pipes. unplug wiring going to ecu then its just getting your engine mounts off but have ure engine hoist suporting the engine b4 u drop it out i still had the gearbox attached. also disconnet your gear linkage when u take exhaust off.get a haynes for locaion of mounts as its easier

I made this for you from my own manual. I hope it's of some use to you.

Best thing to do is get stuck in, it will become obvious what needs removing as you start looking around the engine and removing things then lift slowly watching for anything that's stuck. One tip, you have to remove battery box to get down where engine wiring loom goes into cabin make sure to remove the loom before attempting to lift out. Make list of what you remove as when it comes to putting back in you might get stuck as to where all the bits go so labelle everything.

I take it the car is a EK civic? There one of the easiest to work on so you shouldn't find it too bad. With a helping hand you should have it out in a couple of hours:nice:

lol i just pulled my motor out with the linkage on it, couldnt get the "bitch" pin out from under the car..
