Hey guys,

I really wish I could have my EK as beautiful as the ones that the members here own...but I am very broke! So goodbye to that. But, I could make it appear a bit nicer at least. My question is (or more your experience) whether stock struts -which are very well taken care of, would be a decent choice being paired with H-Tech's lowering at 1.3"/1.1".

I hope that this would hold up for a few years until I could upgrade everything at once. Since I'll be doing the work myself I won't have to worry about paying, so no worries about wasting money.

Even if you do have a complete Tein setup, please show me pics of an H-Tech drop; there's almost 0 online.

Thank you! :thanks:

I used to run Tein Superstreet springs on standard struts, The drop is only about 20mm i found they lower the front a fair bit more than the rear. On the good side the ride quality was spot on :) for road use there perfect not to hard but not to soft. From what i can understand lowering springs put strain on your standard shockers and reduce the lifespan.

Coilovers are the way forward if they were in your budget, such a huge difference.

I wish, but that's more than 5 times more than what I'm spending :(

they do put more strain on them but if you replacing htem down the line anyways then springs would do the job. my friend has en ek9 on lowering springs and it seems to drive quite well. Think im getting ek9 shocks and lowering springs in a week or so.

I had the tein S.tech springs with my stock stuts befor,i had put about 60,xxx miles on to them and they never failed with the stock struts, they give about a 1.5"inch drop once everything is settled, they felt more firm than stock and still comfortable...

is good but better with tokikos

I agree tien are good quality for what you want out of them and the resaon you don't find any pics of them on the internet is because people usually go with the Sm tech its supposed to be a bigger drop but its not that much I have the S. Tech springs with tokicos .. Its a very good setup to have I will post pics up for you if you'd like and they usually go for around $200 U.S.
