help help help help help before i throw my macbook out the window

Nowt to do with the MacBook, sounds like a cookie in chrome, delete cookies (this will log you out of sites and may forget other preferences etc) as this is a reset for the browser.

I'm sure on the google homepage there's a setting option that allows you to save your region...

I have the same problem mines is stuck on Italian browser . Lol I will delete all my cookie and see what i get .

Unfortunately, it's not built into Chrome's settings; you have to find a file that Chrome saves to your AppData folder. The file path is:

User/YourUserName/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data

Inside there is a file called 'Local State'. If you open that in a text editor, and search for google.xx, where xx is the domain that Chrome is auto searching, then replace it with the domain you want it to search, things work as expected!

Note that you should close Chrome before editing and saving the file, otherwise it will overwrite your changes when it shuts down.

Hope this answer will be easier to find for other people in this situation!

:nice:

I have the same problem with my Mac, but I'm currently living in Germany so all my searches get redirected to German sites, tried everything I can think of but no luck.

Thanks elchunky, I'll give it a go...
