Okay guys,
im booked in for a map with MoTeC on my new engine at the end of October.
The thing is i have to drive about 40miles to the place.
Will it be okay for me to put in a standard EK9 ecu just to get me there?....or is that unsafe?...

The reason i ask is that i have BC hi lift cams in and dont want to do any damage.

Just adjust the throttle cable to keep t.b butterfly open abit this will keep revs up if your car is struggling to idle at low revs
 
what engine mods do you have other than cams?

New timing belt and tensioner
TegR 98spec 4-1 + decat+ 2.5" zost

Mugen air box
Spoon plug leads
Put new iridiums in last night.

My mate had this before me and we dyno'd it @ 197flyHP. Was on hondata ECU with a b16b throttle body and a cr@p exhaust.
Im hoping to make over 200flyHP with the setup i have now and MoTeC.

Nice spec. I'd say you should make more than 200bhp with that setup. Did Robbie give you a estimate of what it should make?

Not yet. Ive still to talk to him in detail about it. Ive only reserved an ECU and preliminary booked a session with him, so will talk to him in more depth closer to the time;)
It it makes 200 or over i'l be well chuffed!!:)

I definitely would not drive it there. There are lots of car transport companies out there. I have used them often just phone around and get a quote. Why risk it if you spent good money on the motor. But each to their own I guess.

Yeah i suppose that would be a bit more sensible.
I can get my mates jeep and trailer and transport it up for 20notes.

Just got in.

198 flywheel HP.
140 lb/ft.

175.6 wheel hp.
Fairly satisfied. With a different manifold and a few tweeks maybe we'el see over 200.
Does the clock in it's sleep lol!
