Right well i've looked into it financially and i am going to have around 3000 EURO to play with for my turbo kit. minus tuning and already have a chipped p28.

So naturally my first thaught was Race Tech. and well the price with all the stuff for the basic kit was 2900 pounds... so like way out of budget.

So i am now wondering about the Go Autoworks kit, Even if i pay VAT it still works out 1k Cheaper

Just wondering wich kit of there's you guys would recomend and if they are good quality parts.

And what about piecing a kit together ? the thing that scares me is price of mani / turbo etc and all the fab work really to mate things up i'm a noob to this turbo thing and don't want to mess it up basicly. i just want somthing in my budget that is more or less reliable that i can take to track days.

Hope you guys can help me :drive:

How much power are you after? If this is a basic stock setup then their most basic "street kit" will be more than fine. Go-Autoworks are spot-on though mate, you'll be happy with your purchase if you go with them. I have a few of their bits and I can't fault them....

What bits apart from the race tech kit are you buying? Tbh I'd put a wanted ad up and see if someone is selling a kit.

I've got a Go-Autoworks kit and can recommend it, really is a quality kit.

I want everything i'm starting from scratch.

And it would be the tuner kit i'm after i just want around 270 BHP. with nice spoon times etc.

I don't want somthing stupid i want somthing safe that i can take on track i am willing to sacrifice HP for this aswell.

The thing about the Goautoworks kit that im worried about is would it do if i ever build my bottom end or go b20 bottom end or b18c4 like will it manage without to many ££££

Also what turbo do you guys recomend with the Goauto Kit ? was thinking the prescision turbo ?

Go for a Garrett, forget about Precision, they are a joke. There are rebuild kit's readily available for Garrett turbos over here in the UK as well (unlike Precision ). Just pick the smallest possible turbo that will hit your goal. That way you'll have the best possible powerband. Email them and tell them what you're exactly after. Greg is a spot-on guy and I can assure you he'll point you in the right direction.

I don't understand what you're worried about with the Go-Autoworks kit as well.....

just the import taxes etc to be honest rich im sure the kit is great.

He actually told me the precision turbo would be best lol

I don't think he understands that Precision are a US company and that they don't have a main UK distributor. If something goes wrong with the turbo, then it has to be shipped back to the states. He's probably looking at it by cost as well. Garrett are a OEM supplier so you have their OEM experience/R&D behind their products. Precision aren't, they are purely aftermarket.

I over exaggerated a bit when I called them "a joke". I'm just not a fan after all the recent failures.... that's just me though, others love them.

As for the tax - I'm sure he'll work something out with you... *hint, hint*

he offerd i did not ask about the tax but i live in france and the french have habbit of opening boxes and re evaluating.

anyway 50 trim with 63 a/r ok then ?

Will get this orderd next month i hope.

Yeah, but for your goals why not keep it simple and go for their "street" kit?

for me i don;t see much difference between the 2 kits to be fair i like the look of the manifold included in the tuner kit. and some of the options in it.

just think it would maybe be easier to upgrade at a later date ?

Yeah, I see what your saying. Why not go for the 57 trim then if you're thinking about the future?

57 trim with 63 ar ?

Ok i'm guessing this will still give me a decent spool time ?

the thing that i don't really want is a great massive kick up the arse at 6k rpm like i see on most youtube video's :/

What engine will it be going on? If you are planning to forge a engine with a larger displacement then you need to choose for that ideally.

at the moment it's going on a b16a2 that is freshly built with stock internals.

But i would plan going b18c4 or b20 in the future.

As i tend to hear they are good on boost.
