gearbox or clutch noise?

i have a year 2000 civic just so you no. when i start her anytime i can hear a rattle squeaky noise but when i press the clutch it stops?

if i change the gearbox oil will it help?

More than likely your clutch release bearing. Gearbox out job to replace. Only get a genuine honda release bearing the rest seem to get noisy not long after been installed.

yeah pretty much lol my jordan has a exedy clutch and the bearing is noisy when clutch is out lol

Likely to be your input shaft bearing.

I had the same problme too. Thought it was cluth bearing but wasnt!. It was the gear box bearings had to get them reconditioned. Starting from first gear give the car a gradual change threw gears if the noise gets louder threw gears then its defos the gear bearings.
