the last few days my ek9 {1997 113klms} when slowing down from 20klms to
stop got this banging noise in around the dif seems to be coming from both

sides of the dif only happens some times and when i use full lock right get winning noise is this in lsd or drive shaft .took drive shaft apart today inside

cv joint was full off watered down grease so repacked it with grease and put it back in. still the noise is there is the cv joint after wearing.the gear box

has {atf} automatic transmission fluid in it was recommend by gearbox specilast to put this in

is tat ur car in de pic?saw performance motorworks sellin it.
its manual so how cud it tak atf!!tat has be problem???

a long time ago, ATF was probably ok to put into the diff in a mixed quantity, something like 2 parts 10W30 and 1 part ATF. That was also the time when Honda didn't have its own specific transmission fluid and straight recommended 10W30.

If you are running straight ATF .... uhmmm... just who is your mechanic and what kind of mechanic is he?

Hondas run great on their own special brew of current and recent manual transmission fluids, especially if you have NOT done anything like replace the factory LSD.

I highly suggest you do a flush of the transmission. Fill 1.5L of fresh 10W30 (cheaper the better) drive SLOWLY around the block a few times shifting gears and then come back and immediately drain it and fill with fresh Honda MTF.
