The other nite my gearbox started grinding/crunching going from 8500rpm in 2nd gear slapping her into 3rd!!!!
Every other gear change is perfect.
This crunch only occurs from a redline in 2nd going into 3rd...
Wud anyone know what seems to be the problem or How I could get rid of this crunch because it does'nt sound/feel nice..

Thanks

First thing Id do would be check where the shift linkage bolts and connects to the gbox. Make sure that its still secure, then inspect the underside of the gearstick from under the car, make sure the bush is intact which it will be no doubt (but worth checking these things first.

If you have developed a fault in the gearbox it is normally the resin shims in between the gears that wears allowing the grinding. Best thing to try first is to drain and refill the box with FRESH oil. like say just as an example 1.9litres of high quality gear oil. You can even use Cheap oil like Magnatec GTX.

Changing the oil to fresh can somtimes reduce or even stop the 'slight' grinding issues.

check and make sure all shifter bushings are in good shape, if not order new urethane ones from energy suspension then drain your gearbox fluid and refill it with pennzoil synchromesh.

if u went to shift & it crunched don't persist! select another gear then try later. change the oil with oem honda mtf tranny fluid. the ek9 gearbox needs exaclty 2.5 litres of oil. with this oil u can shift with your little finger if u want to! :nice:

first check the bushes then change the oil and it may get better but 9 times out of 10 its your syncros on there wat out. classic honda weak point!
