Awrite guys, been running my car on v power since i got it however the other night i had to use tesco 99 octane fuel as shell was closed.
Couple of days later the car was running soooooo slow. it hardly pulled and felt like it was proper struggling however vtec engaged properly.(check oil as that was my first concern).
couple of days after that the car began to run ok again untill 2nite when i had to refuel with tesco again...

the 9 is pulling terrible again and doesnt feel right atall.

Has anyone else had problems like this??

your car just likes the good stuff lol my friend has the same problem with his supra dont know what it is about it dosent like

Mine runs fine on 99 Tesco, I have however, been told to avoid it and stick to Shell vpower.

that tesco's petrol is sposed to be watered down shi**...ur better off stickin wit the v power i get the same prob wit my eg sir it likes v power but put anythin else in an it runs crap.

sounds like its the type of fuel your using, switch back to vpower, if the problem continues change your fuel filter... also check your plugs, crap fuel can mess up your plugs...

I say check your plugs, fuel filter and oil..may be service time. We dont get Tesco 99Ron up here, but some of my trade contacts down south who I have asked say its pretty much the same. The ones I recall asking are one of the highest respected tuners about so they pretty much know their stuff.

I'll check the plugs out 2moro while i'm changing the engine oil etc.
Gonna try an octane booster later 2day to see if it can help atall aswell.

Tesco 99, like all petrol, 'goes off' after spending a while sitting in the underground tanks at the filling station. That's why it's always best to use a busy garage that's not going to have old stock.

Purely speculation, but maybe Tesco 99 is a lower quality base fuel than V Power, so once it starts to go off it looses the good bits that crank up the octane rating more quickly...

I've been using both Tesco 99 and V Power and not noticed any problems or appreciable difference using either.

Cheers,
Alex

lucky you, we have no Shell pumps, no Vpower.

I have to use regular OMV gasoline. :angry2::angry2::angry2::angry2:

Ive always used tesco 99 in all jap imports including my ek9 and have never had any issues.

Try changing your fuel filter ,and when you can get some v power again stick to putting that in

checked the spark plugs and it turned out cylinder 4 plug was in very bad shape. I changed em yesterday while i was changing all the fluids and its running great again :D
