Hey guys just wanting to know if anyone has had any run ins with the ST and the Vxr. Ave had a few over the last couple of weeks. To be honest am getting rather annoyed by them as they only wont to race in a straight line (wonder why)
I was on the motorway the other day and an St &Vxr came up my arse obv they were both pals and i had a wee race and of course i lost however after catching up with them back in town they seemed to think there cars where gods gift but when i said lets have a go on the backroads they chicken out and i explained that my Ek9 what destroy them but they couldnt see how after beating me badly on the straights (i was dealing with idiots) i have had a few more races with other ones and they just seem to drive fast on the straights and then seem to think they have got the better of me.
Am just waiting to meet one on the backroads and hope he actually gives me a wee go. i no i would beat them but just wont the satifaction lol.

Anyone had any good races with them?

I had a good race with a st along a windy country road n stuck to his ass look quite confused looking back at me in his rear view mirror mwahahahahahah :D

You realise why they do not want to race on back roads? Because they have invested £16000+ on their cars. Who wants that kind of money through a bush or even wrapped around a tree? They will most likely be older and more mature and maybe even scared to race on back roads. I don’t even do this and I'm 19. I used to but I soon realised what I was doing was not just unsafe to myself but my passengers and on coming traffic.

Just my two cents

Take them to the desert next month...RaceWarzzzz

To be honest man, racing on the road is pointless

a mate of mine has an astra vxr we had a wee blast 1 nyt no on the bk roads tho was l8 at nyt no traffic there was loads of round abouts then straights goin in 2 the round abouts then off the straight a was up his arse then a gd bit on he was jst gettin away not that much tho:)

raced both them on the 1/4 mile and totally pumped them

lol yeh they both turbo cars so ofcourse they take you on the stright i wouldnt bother with street race unless i know the roads our very quiet or i just save it for the track. but yes vxr are annoying i cant wait to see the faces when i blitz them in my k20 eg ha haha ha

So you have to heavily modify your car in order to beat a standard car? No point in going up against a newer turbo car, just enjoy what you have. If you look at it from their point of view then you are the idot.

:nice:

It is only a engine convertion not really modifying anything except for the breathing parts like intake and exhaust. Vxr they are tuned up version of the normal astra which is done by vauxhall racing its like buying a ek9 tuned by Spoon, mugen Blue blood etc to be fair. besides i was just having fun it would be nice to blitz them the price they paid for there car and the price i paid for my conversion saving me 13K :D every little helps

Yes, but your car is older... If you bought your car when it was new it would of been 13k+ and even then you would still have to spend money getting it better. And Modifying means changing it from standard, even a sticker is classed as modifying as the original did not have a sticker. I am just saying older technology cannot compete with newer easily, stock for stock.

i know where you coming from totally understand in order to compete with the VXR you will need a JDM ep3 or the mugen type RR civic which i think the mugen is priced around the 30k mark :( cheaper to buy a VXR lol.:drive:

some of these modern top of range hot hatches are just brutally fast filled with modern tech etc etc, just enjoy what you have

I hate VXR driver's, there attitude and the way they drive thinking there "untouchable". Most of them think they would blitz the RX-7, which they have no chance with what's so ever. And the excuse always is " my car isn't working properly" yeah right haha.

Straight's are nothing though dude, I hate how everyone think's it's the most important thing in a car, which it's not, carry speed's through corners etc . . is where it's at! Like everyone said save it for the track!

lol That is very true Mr Championship white, doubt ill ever go that low and buy a Vauxhall. I just get annoyed at the fact they all think there gods gift because its fast in a straight line. Like Adamm says anyone can drive fast in a straight but the ek9 can do both the straights and the corners and i think some may agree that driving along a nice country road with loads of corners is better than driving straight (well it is in an EK9). But yeh best saving it for the track where loads of people can see you out do them. (first corner, good buy Vxr and good buy ST) lol.
