I've posted this on CivicLife but may aswell chuck it here too, I know there's some very knowledgeable members on here, hopefully atleast one of you have dealt with this problem before..

My side skirts have been off for ages, since I undersealed my car.. far too long! I'm fed up of my car looking untidy and as the weather seems to be perking up abit I'm gonna pull my finger out and tidy everything up!

So, to those of you who have removed the skirts off an EK, including removing the white plastic mounting clips underneath the skirt... How did you re-fit said clips?

Originally they clearly had some sort of thin foam backing between the clips and the shell of the car, I assume it's adhesive foam to hold the clips still and stop vibrations/rattles.

When I took all the clips out, the majority of the little foam pads just fell to bits, they're beyond reusing so I'm trying to think of a suitable alternative?

So far my ideas have been;

- Get some more thin adhesive foam and spend forever cutting loads of tiny little shapes out

- Put a dab of silicon sealant on each clip before I push them into place

What did you do? :)

Any help appreciated! :nice:

always reused the foam myself!

i would stick to using foam myself, that way you're garunteed a good anti rattle base, silicon sealant may spread out and not seal between the clip/sill

I wouldn't worry about it too much or if you really want cut up one of your mums tea towels.
