hi guys, i finally got myself an ek9 yesterday, just what i have been looking for, low mileage, clean as a whistle and excpet for the exhaust and wheels, original. only problem i have so far is that its way to loud, it has a buddy club pro spec 3 and i guess its non resonated as it is extermely raspy in high revs, what would be the best thing to do? also i noticed the temperature sensor sits at about a third instead of half which i thought it should be? is normal for them to run at that or could it be a problem? any help would be great, cheers.

Temperature gauge may be a low temp thermostat.

As for the exhaust check if it has a cat still installed, if not you could one in or a silenced decat.

If still too loud then you could put an original one back on or get one custom made.

Congrats on the new purchase :nice:.

You sound like you like things civilized and OEM, I would ditch the buddyclub in favour for a mugen twinloop or similar if I were you.

Have one with a straight decat on my DC2, Wouldn't think the car had a straight through decat.

Regarding the temperature gauge, could be a sticking thermostat or as mentioned a low temp one. Had the same problem in my DC2 and replaced it with an OEM Honda item from japserviceparts, runs just below half all the time now.

Thanks guys. The gauge does stay in one place. But just buy below half. Someone told me its because they are built to drive fast and when driving slow they just cool really well? I like a loud exhaust its just the rasp id like to get rid of. A mate said there's a place that wiill make me up a decat and put a resonator in the exhaust. Ill probably go for that. Followed by a whale *****, manifold and remap :) 6k its too high for VTEC for me lol.
