The Civic was SORN'd at the end of last month so I thought I'd take it for a final drive before then.

My drive would take me to the edge of the Cairngorm National Park and up over the Lecht towards Spayside Whisky country.

After a check of the fluids and tyre pressures, I set off.

I used all 9000RPM.

The first section of the pass is a series of tight hairpins, with a 20% gradient.

Once past this initial incline you are greeted with a grand view of the Lecht Road.

It really should say "Heel and toe".

Looking back.

Once at the ski centre, I stopped for a drink as a small rain shower passed.

On the downward side of the pass the rain shower had made the road very slippery. Fortunately it never reached Dufftown, so the Dufftown-Auchindoun-Huntly section was bone dry and a brilliant drive. I passed very little traffic the whole journey, I felt like the only one on the road at times, this allowed me to take nice lines through the big swooping corners and fully enjoy the EK9 for what it is.
