I am in the middle of converting my eg9 to a b16b engine! First of all is the obd2b ecu meant to say p73 on it? Because it wont run my car even with the proper conversion harness the ecu i got says pct and keihn corporation!!!
Then I put in an f1 racing stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel but when I go to move it shakes the car violently and judders!!! Is this a clutch problem or driveshafts???
When I run the car on the p30 sir eg9 ecu it does drive but really struggles!!! It gets to about 3000 rev's and almost feels like your holding it back with the brakes!!! Is this the ecu???£ of my friends have these clutches and no problems but it almost feels like it keeps slipping and catching really quickly until you get going!!!

Any help greatly apprecieated as I want to have the car finished for the irish meet on sunday and have to get the side of it sprayed aswell in between!!!

AFAIK the pct you mention is printed on the B16B ecu, so it may be correct. I would say the judder is been caused by the clutch, did you use a tool to centre the clutch? perhaps its not lined correcty...

Ok but why will it run better on the sir ecu is the bit that confuses me!!! Im going to try a dc2 ecu aswell for a chance!!! Yes used the tool a mechanic was there and everything was torqued to spec its confusing me must be just a dodgey clutch!!!

what harness is on your engine?

has it been chopped/rewired ever?

Are you having to use an adaptor harness?

-DOUBLE check you have your connectors at the back of the engine hooked-up right, ESPECIALLY the knock sensor connector and power-steering pressure switches for example. Remember the the PCT (ek9/jdm integra type-r ecu) looks for knock voltage, it could be retarding the ignition if that plugs hooked up to the wrong thing, its not unknown to happen. the other ecu doesnt look for knock unless its a certain model.

also check all your earths are there, including the cam cover, and most importantly THERMOSTAT earth.

Also check your dizzy main connector is firmly together... and check over all others while your at it.. do you have the dash loom wires with the green plug hooked up near the ecu? ...and do you have ur check engine light on?

As for flywheel, what brand is it? some super light ones can cause drivability issues. and cheap ones somtimes come wit really cheap pilot bearings (for the middle of the flywheel). What pilot bearing did you use?

HTH, let us know how you get on.

Its a boomslang conversion harness obd1 to obd2b With my standard obd1 loom. No chopping or re-wiring at all!!!

The story today is that I ran the car on the sir ecu and sorted the ignition timing and it runs ok but vtec is not that strong!! Then I plugged in the type r ecu and it runs quicker with a much stronger vtec!!! But on the type r ecu I have no rev guage my engine management, abs and tcs lights stay on!!! My mates ek9 has an extra green plug at his ecu that mine doesnt!!!

Now with the flywheel its a fidanza so not cheap and everything was done right so im just putting it down to a dodgey clutch as it works fine when you rev it higher to take off the problem is with low revs!!!

is the clutch and flywheel brand new? if soo you shudnt be driving it hard for 400 miles as it has to be broken in, i had to wear in my clutch and flywheel for that mileage not driving over 4000 rpm, your clutch might just need to be worn in againt the flywheel and also is your flywheel is very light and your clutch is performnace it will compromise normal traffic driving, hope you hav it sorted for sunda man :D

Yeah I understand about running in the clutch if it doesnt bed in ill just change it!!! I reckon I will be there sunday just running on an sir ecu!!!
