I apologise if this has been covered a 1000 times already but I couldn't find it so I thought I'd post up a new thread :)

I'm about to change my front brakes ( new discs, pads, braided hoses and fluid) and wanted people's experience of the above pads.

I currently have mintex 1144's on standard discs and hoses and I've never had a car stop well as my EK9 does but I'm still looking for that bit more hence the braided lines etc. I've never used DS2500's but I know people rave about them, BUT most those people haven't tried the 1144's, so I need good honest advice from people who may have experienced both before I go she'll out £120+ on pads!

Thanks

I think I'm going for a set of the ferodo next month as I have only ever heard great things

Yea I think I'll go with the ferodo's too mate, I'll be fitting them this weekend so I'll let you know how I get on.

Hey mate, we had 2 pretty much identical civics on track yesterday, one with the mintex and one with the ds2500. Both cars seemed to have the same brakin ability but the ferodos seem to be going to last longer..

Had DS2500 on my old CTR (ep3) and seemed to hold up pretty well, so no complaints here :)

Ordered the DS2500's today so let's hope they do them selfs justice. Although the new fluid and braided lines will help :)

Used ds2500 on my ek4 daily for 2 years of road rallying and never faded even with the discs glowing red, and used ds2500's on the rally ek4 for last 4stage rallys and altho they are destroyed now after prob 350 competitive miles, they have been very good, infact i robed the daily of them at the start of the year as i was so unhappy with the mintex i was using.

im running the ds2500 atm but id go for a good disc im running oem honda atr discs and was out on track yday and looks like ive cooked them lol

DS2500 with Dixcel carbon discs + Wilwood Midilites = Impressive :D

Hmmm I just had my OEM discs delivered today so that's that lol. I'm hoping they live up to the task but if not then maybe I'll have to look elsewhere, I just don't appreciate the price hike from OEM to grooved or any other upgraded disc. They're not going to get abused too much I shouldn't think so the set up I'm about to fit this weekend should surfice... I hope :)

This will be my set up:

OEM discs all round
Front DS2500 pads
Rear yellow stuff pads
HEL braided lines all round
Motul RBF

I'm hoping for good things!

same set-up as me ruffly im running
oem discs all round(front 300mm atr)
front ds2500
rear ebc redstuff
hel braided lines
motul rbf

How would you rate your set up? Other than possibly cooking your discs I'm guessing your happy with it :)

I'll report back once fitted and run in

Cheers

good stopping power mate, held up all day still life in them but dont think my oem discs will take another full day lol

Guys, you do know I can supply all the above... and probably a bit cheaper than you're currently paying.
We dont just do big brake kits, we do all standard/fast road replacements as well :D
Give me a shout if you want a quote and I'll see what I can do.

i use the Ferodo DS2500's on mine and highly rate them. i am re-newing mine very soon too and am sticking with them as don't have a reason to change. i hear the dixcel items are worth checking out though :)

Well if your going to start that game...

I paid £195 delivered for my pads and lines. No one else could match that even with a club discount

I like the DS2500's too. They work very well on the roads but not so brilliant on track.

If it's fast road pads you want, then they are about the best.

I disagree with this, there epic on track, on the road there OK, but on track when there up to temperature there fantastic, never experienced fade with these
