Hi all, having a bit of trouble with getting my EK4 with a b16b through its MOT.. wanting to keep it all straight and legal so trying to avoid leaving 30 quid on the passenger seat for now..
I have a full fujitsubo decat system and a hks manifold, took it in for the MOT and it failed ofc on c02 emissions reading .600, the max is .300, passed lambda and the others.
As it was quite close I gave a thrashing, put some fuel system additves in it and took it for a retest but it got the exact same results.
I got a brand new cat (b16a) on the cheap and found a great guy at an exhaust place to custom fit it into my system.
Drove it for about 30 miles and took it for its retest...
This time it failed hitting .650 on the emissions and failing the lambda too??
I'm obviously thinking new lambda sensor and driving it some more then doing another retest. Im also taking it to another garage in 30 mins for a second reading.
I just want to know, are ek9's known for being tricky with emissions? do most people just bribe the tester lol?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
Dan
