ep3 to ek9?

Putting a k20 into an ek9 is more expensive than picking up a b18c4 and turbocharging it, instant 350hp.....

I wouldn't be putting one in. I'd want to buy one already done. But its never just as simple as sticking a turbo on and away you go. And doubt it wouldn't be very reliable?! Unless you forge it and stuff and then again that's more money.

Plus Iv only owned one turbo car. Little glanza V. Always thought it was going to blow up when I gave it the beans lol more of an NA fan tbh.

If I can't find a b18 9, what sort of power can be had from a b16b with decent breathing mods and a map? Surely 200+...

A healthy b16b with decent breathing mods, k20 injectors and a good map to compliment it will increase mid range torque more than power which is what you need on a b16b so forget 200bhp+. What i can tell from my experience is that with good breathing mods, k20 injectors and a good map u can easily take on a standard b18c JDM Type R and will only start to accelerate on you a little bit on 4th gear but i have now improvised on that by replacing my S80 4th and 5th gears with the shorter ones from an S4C :naughty::naughty::naughty:

I reckon I can now take on any standard B18c on the island and give them a good run for their money.....and trust me we have loads of ek's with B18c swaps over here ;)

Only experienced the EK9 S4C gearbox with the 98 Spec DC2 final drive (4.785) installed. This makes a healthy difference over standard.

Totally agree on this one.....i did the opposite by changing my S80 4th and 5th with S4C ones and the difference is immense and can be felt! Totally worth the upgrade.

Cheers, Noted :nice:
Ideally I'd like to get one with b18 already in it. But been having a look passed few days and havnt saw any pop up so looks more likely that I'll end up with a standard one. If I do i don't think I'll go to the hassle of doing an engine swap.

What difference do K20 injectors make?

A healthy b16b with decent breathing mods, k20 injectors and a good map to compliment it will increase mid range torque other than power which is what you need on a b16b.

A good map with decent bolt ons will increase torque. Why the need for the injectors unless your original ones are maxed out?

And pot luck if it is reliable.......

Wasn't long ago you was telling me about your boosted b16a going on forever.
Agreed reliability could be an issue, I've a feeling it's only a road car though so not like it's being stressed too much.

I'm not sure how your going to gain any meaningful power from using the Kseries injector over the stock ones if your not nearing max duty in the Bs.
I mean spray pattern is literally all I can think of that could be different between the two that could have any marginal effect...

My tuner said the injectors were hitting around 80% usage. K20 injectors are 310cc as opposed to standard 240cc which could accommodate better the fuel flow. Plus K20 injectors give better fuel atomisation which increased the torque. I drove my b16b mapped both on standard and k20 injectors and difference in torque could be felt so speaking out of experience.

The b16 still lives too. Its pot luck buying an unknown c4 and then boosting it. Better knowing what motor you have and going from there.

As for the injectors thats my take on it aswell. Unless the duty is nearing its peak then ok swap to bigger ones.

I was told EVO 4 or 5 injectors also fit honda b series with a little file down of the O rings ?
